1. Please introduce yourself.: hi i'm michael
2. How long have you been making websites?: since 2021
3. And what got you into the hobby?: i stumbled upon melonking's website and it inspired me
4. What kind of website are you most interested in?: personal sites and sites with resources
5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?: kind of both. with the current layout (june 2026) i did plan it out a bit but as i learn more CSS i add more stuff
6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.: i dunno
7. What's your favourite part about making websites?: the creativity and learning something new
8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?: i try to keep the same one
10. How confident are you with CSS?: tbh not too much because i feel like it doesn't listen to me half the time lol
11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?: ig ive heard about it before but i don't think ive ever had a need to use it, so no
12. What is your favourite HTML element?
13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?: think about the layout
14. Do you know JavaScript?: i know some, i made a dress-up game with it and all of the layout and theme related code is hand-coded by yours truly xP

16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?: yeah, i like the emo thing the site's going on
17. Are you more focused on content or design?: both, though design is very important to me
18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?: yess but i dont have the funds
19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?: theyre cool
20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?: most of it is ig, though im still working on it
21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?: love em
22. What do you think of button walls in particular?: theyre cool
23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?: yes
24. Are you envious of other people's websites?: sometimes, lol, but in more of a "wow, i wish i came up with that!" kind of way
25. What text editor do you use?: VScode and the neocities one
26. Why do you use that one?: because i also use vscode to make games, and neocities because its just easy
27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?: neocities
28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?: so difficult. i sometimes think about switching but i dont know
29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?: i know how much, about 1Mb
30. Do you keep local backups of your files?: yessir
31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?: i dont know. it really depends on the site type in my opinion
32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?: yes. both
33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?: nooooooooooo
34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?: i dont :(
35. Do people in your real life know about your website?: i dont think so
36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?: i update it when i 'member
37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?: it has changed a lot since the beginning, but i don't like changing things too often unless theyre really bad
38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?: dude i dont even knoow

40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?: nope. i am a graphic designer/illustrator/artist/whatever

42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?: yeah, its how i get most of my work and where most of my friends are
43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?: no, because everyone in my country uses messenger so i kind of have to as well if i want to talk to anyone
44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?: sometimes. usually the stuff in my music section
45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?: just one for me
46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?: ig many?
47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh idk i dont even know who i am
48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?: i dont know
49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?: sure
50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?: making scrollbars thin
51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?: perhaps not underutilised butt making websites accessible is good and adding themes (whether for accessibility or looks) is cool as hell also
52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?: i try to use as much semantic HTML as i can lol in fact i might use too much of it sometimes
53. Do you consider different browsers?: i try, especially mobile browsers, though i mainly use firefox on my computer
54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.: firefox bcuz its cool and fast and has a cute fox icon
55. And what OS are you on?: windows 10 normie moment
56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?: just happen to use it
57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?: yes! i try
58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?: i dislike it, generally. give me an option to turn on music if i want to, dont force me to listen to it

70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?: ig mine is a two column one? they can be a good way to show info, sooo why not

79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?: depends on the thing, px for margins and flex basis and stuff, em for text and % for everything else
80. Do you have a favourite font?: right now i dont know but im sure i do
81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?: no
82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?: yea
83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?: yes, and that would be cool!
84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?: the design and the content, and actually thats everything lol
85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?

87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?: anyone who like mall emo music and the aesthetic of it, and anyone who likes resources, tutorials, and stuff like that
88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?: no but now that ive read about it it's kinda cool
89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?: yes
90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?: theyre fine i guess. ive never used them. i think im too stubborn and hellbent on doing everything myself to use one. perhaps i should try them out someday
91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?: cuz theyre fun! also makes me feel like a celebrity
92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?: i frequent one which i cannot name and im sometimes on the melonking forums
93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?: depends, this list i did directly in neocities
94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?: i dont think i do, though i sometimes hear that people think i am
95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?: even if i am, it doesnt matter because its on the internet archive anyway lol (thanks to whoever submitted it)
96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?: acrhive it for sure
97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?: kind of?
98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?: why would i do that
99. And do you optimise the images on your website?: i try, though high quality is important to me too
